How We Get Rid of Rats and Mice
- We start by looking for droppings, prospective nesting places, food supplies, and likely migratory routes throughout the house.
- Then we create a baiting program that determines the number of stations needed, where they should be placed, and how often the stations should be rebaited.

- Our professionals next select a professional-grade bait that meets the needs of the residence (for example, if you have a dog or a cat, it is important that we choose a bait that does not have secondary poisoning effects).
- After that, we fill the stations with professional-grade rat bait and set them in the most advantageous locations.
- Our professionals next give recommendations for house changes that will reduce the likelihood of rodents entering your house in the future.
Why Rats, Mice, and Other Vermin Are a Problem
- They may consume vast amounts of human food and pollute the remainder with their faeces.
- Rats and mice are carriers of diseases that are hazardous to humans. Rodents have been responsible for millions of human deaths throughout history.
- Rodents have powerful incisor teeth that allow them to chew through practically anything. This can harm your plumbing, resulting in floods; electrical wiring, resulting in fires; and furniture, carpets, and even building structures. What a disaster!
- Rodents emit a pungent odor that can be difficult to eradicate once an infestation has occurred. Urine, dung, and the occasional death of a rat or two within walls and roof areas are the most common causes.
Common Rodent Species

Norway Rat: commonly known as the brown rat, is a huge rodent that may live up to a year and have up to 60 young in its lifetime. This rat is extremely common in Australia, and its destructive abilities are a serious worry. They frequently build their nests within the walls and roof areas of structures and dwellings.
Roof Rat: is also known as the black rat or the ship rat. This rat is much smaller than the Norway rat, yet it lives for the same amount of time and can have the same number of offspring. This rat can only be found indoors and is only found in metropolitan and city regions.
House Mouse: The field mouse is another name for the field mouse. This mouse is little and prefers to live outside. They can, however, seek shelter indoors during adverse weather conditions. These mice can proliferate to uncontrolled numbers if natural predators are limited, food supplies are plentiful, and the temperature is favorable.
How You Can Control Rodents and Vermin
Prevention is preferable to treatment! The most significant approach for lowering the risk of a rodent infestation in your home is cleanliness and sanitation. Here are some more useful hints:
- Make sure the lids on your garbage bins are secure. Keep them clean and empty them on a regular basis.
- Green waste should be removed on the same day as gardening, as it attracts rodents.
- Limit points of entrance to your home to keep rodents out. Your home should be repaired if it has any cracks or holes. To do so, use durable materials such as iron grills, heavy metals, and/or concrete. Rodents may nibble through plastics, wood, and delicate metals, so keep that in mind.
If you see rodents, you can try to keep them under control.
- Rodent stations and traps are available in supermarkets and hardware stores, but the quality of these baits is inferior to the professional grade baits provided by pest control professionals like us. Before purchasing, inquire about the number of baits included in the station. The more bait you have, the better.
- The majority of people grossly underestimate how many rodent bait stations are required to completely eradicate a rat infestation. Make sure to purchase a large number of stations (at least four
- The location of the rodent station is critical. The rodents are frequently found in the roof. You’ll have to climb up there if you believe they’re in the roof. Several stations should be placed around the roof (the number of stations will depend on the number of rodents in the roof).
- Try to figure out how the rodents got into your house. Consider how they’ll get in and out of the roof if they’re up there. A few stations should be placed along these travel routes. Make sure the station’s holes are closest to the walls. Because rodents will travel along the wall’s edge, make it easy for them to enter the bait station.
- It’s worth noting that rats are quite intelligent. If they detect your fragrance on the station, they may mark it off limits. They may avoid the station if it is placed in an unusual location.
