They’re fascinating creatures, but they’re also extremely destructive. Before you even notice a warning sign, they can do thousands of dollars in damage. This is a major issue because termite damage is not covered by your home or contents insurance. Get in touch with us straight away if you fear you have termites or have observed “white ants.”
A trail of mud going up your wall and imperfections or bulges in your home’s timber or paint can be signs of termites. If you poke a paint bulge and your finger goes right through, your wall has likely been destroyed internally by termites! Don’t wait for them to cause any more damage. Book a termite control treatment with us right away!
The following three approaches are used to keep termites at bay:
Our residential termite inspection costs are determined by asking a series of questions about your home (e.g., how many bedrooms, media rooms, is your home high set or low set, etc.) that will help us determine the time required to complete a full termite inspection (without missing any important areas!) and provide a high-quality report to ensure we don’t leave anything out. As a result, including a pricing range without first chatting with you about your home is difficult. We also make management recommendations for any residences that do not have proper security.
Dusting – We utilize a dust puffer to spread a fine termiticide impregnated cellulose powder into termite workings or damaged timbers after drilling a small hole. The powder forms a thin layer of protection over the termites and is consumed during their normal grooming, causing them to die. The dusts we employ are non-repellent and use a transfer effect to kill additional termites that come into contact with the infected termites.
Foaming – We make a small hole in the termite workings or damaged timbers and inject liquid foam into it, which swiftly expands throughout the structure. The foam we use is essentially a foam variant of Termidor, the top-of-the-line termite treatment. It’s non-repellent, which means the termites don’t feel threatened, and it keeps them alive for 4-6 days after contact, allowing afflicted termites to spread the poison to unaffected termites.
Liquid application – To destroy a colony of ground termites or arboreal termites, we pour liquid Termidor directly into the mound or nest.
Our termite treatments cost roughly $250 and include up to 1 hour of treatment time, as well as a free follow-up session 14-21 days later to check that the treatment was effective. You’ll also get two reports (a certificate of treatment and a site consultation report after the successful treatment check), as well as a termite barrier installation plan.
If the termite activity is considerable and 1 hour is not enough to cure the termites, we charge $75 for every 30 minutes after that.
From termite inspections to preventive barriers and everything in between, our team can help. We can assist you in modifying your current home, building a new home, or purchasing a new property. Benchmark Pest Solutions is committed to providing the finest standards of customer service and quality in Queensland.
Because their delicate outer layer is susceptible to disintegration in cold, dry regions, termite worker and soldier termites leave their mounds in search of nourishment in hot, humid circumstances. This is why termites are so common from the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland! The majority of termite species are subterranean, which means they live and migrate primarily underground or within a tunnel or structure. This underground existence is what allows them to remain undetected by the typical homeowner. They dig a tunnel from the nest to your house and begin consuming wooden buildings from the inside out.
Termites spend the majority of their life in utter darkness, and the majority of them are essentially blind because they have no need for sight. Within their colony, termites engage in grooming behaviors that transfer bacteria to their young, assisting in the breakdown of cellulose (which they obtain from wood). This behavior is critical for the transmission of the products we use to treat a termite infestation.
Our pest control services are safe for you, your family and your pets. All of our technicians are trained and licensed pest control technicians, who only use the best and safest products that have been approved by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority.
During our services, we use only the safest techniques and practices to ensure the safety of your loved ones. To do this, the following precautions are to be observed:
You get what you pay for. Most budget providers work on volume, and so they have to complete their jobs quickly, and usually with a ‘one-product-fits-all’ approach. The end result may not be tailored to your home and situation, leaving you with less effective treatment that won’t last all year.
Here at Benchmark Pest Solutions, we pride ourselves on high quality thorough work, and providing an outstanding customer experience. We know how important it is to feel safe, comfortable and relaxed in your own home. To ensure this, we spend more time on your property treating more areas, and use a greater number of products to create a more effective and longer lasting treatment.
We’ve designed our own tailorable methods of treatment that give our customers the most effective service possible. In each treatment we use a number of different specialised products that work together to create a compounding effect that provides a high quality and longer lasting treatment. Because we are more detailed, thorough, and use a combination of premium products, we can confidently offer our 12 month pest free guarantee.
Short answer: The products we use are safe for you and your little one.
Long answer: How do we know they are safe? Before a product can be sold as a pesticide in Australia, it first must be approved by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority. If, for example, a product was harmful to pregnant women and still was approved for use as a pesticide and a pest control company chose to use it (we would not); a warning would have to be printed on the label and on the product’s Safety Data Sheet.
Therefore, we know that our products are safe for pregnant women because there are no warnings on the labels or the safety data sheets of any of our products. We are also in constant contact with our chemical supplier, who would advise us immediately if anything were to change.
If you still are not convinced, we won’t be offended if you prefer to leave the premises while we conduct the service at your home. What matters most to us is that you feel comfortable during an exciting time of your life.
Unless you are particularly sensitive or suffer from allergic reactions, there is no need for you to leave your home during our pest treatment. However, if you would like to leave, that is absolutely fine too.
Ideally, you would be home to meet our pest technician and advise of any problem areas or concerns. After that, it’s really a personal choice if you want to stay or leave.
Yes, we do! Any person with a Queensland Seniors Card will receive a 20% discount on all services that exceed our minimum call out fee, with the exception of Termite Prevention; both physical and chemical barriers. We will also recognise Seniors Cards from other Australian States.
